Hometown: Knoxville, TN
Age: 43

Stephen Britnell has been winning world titles since 2000. “My roping has changed a lot since my first world title. I’ve learned a lot over the years and paid attention to how my mentors have changed their styles and adjusted my roping as well,” said Stephen. “There are always ways to be faster and sharper.”

“I won two world titles with Kelsey Parchman and when I started roping with Quinton at the end of 2016, I told him we were going to go and put a gold buckle on his belt too,” said Britnell. “It was great to be able to do this with this family again.”

“Being 43 and rodeoing with 22 year olds, it was interesting every day,” laughed Stephen. “We had some memorable adventures. Quinton is like a kid brother to me. He roped phenomenal at the IFR.”

“My older brother, Gene, came to the finals to watch me for the first time,” said Stephen. “It was awesome to have him there with me.”

“I hope to be back at IFR49. I will be roping with Ross Lowry in 2018 and I hope to win a championship with him,” said Stephen. “I am thankful to God for all of the doors he’s opened for me.”
