Justin Thigpen continues to build on his ever-growing list of world titles. Thigpen’s eighth tie-down title puts him in the IPRA record books moving ahead of Tom Walker and Walt White who each earned seven world titles. “Coming into the finals, this record had been mentioned to me,” said Justin. “This is what childhood dreams are made of. I’m both honored and proud to be among these great cowboys.”

“Tie-down roping is my favorite event of the three,” said Justin. “I’ve been at it the longest. It’s also the one I have to work the hardest at; there are just so many variables. You have to have a good horse and I was blessed this year for my horse to be named Horse of the Year.”

“St. Tite and North Washington, PA were stand out rodeos to me in 2017,” said Thigpen. “I’ve won St. Tite several times and at North Washington, I won the tie-down roping, steer wrestling and second in the team roping.”

“I’m steadily working to produce more rodeos,” said Thigpen. “My boys are always asking when they are putting on another rodeo, they think they are theirs. I’m all about my family and kids. They are so much fun to be around and whatever makes them happy, makes me happy.”

“The good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll be back at IFR49,” said Justin.
